Norwegian Jade to quit UK

/, Cruise News/Norwegian Jade to quit UK

No sooner have I blogged about the growing numbers of Brits joining cruises which sail from UK ports than NCL announce that they will be taking one of their ships away from Southampton next year.
Norwegian Jade will be sailing from the UK this summer, and I will be on board at the beginning of June for a cruise round Britain.”
But in 2010, the ship will be offering seven-night cruises from Barcelona, and the Norwegian Gem will be re-located from Barcelona to Venice. Ex-UK cruises to the Baltic on board Norwegian Jewel will continue to sail from Dover.
Norwegian Cruise Lines’ UK General Manager, Stephen Park, said: “We have had great success out of Southampton and if we had more ship capacity we would love to continue doing it, but this makes more sense.”
“We had Jade doing lots of different itineraries out of Southampton but we have found, for instance, the seven nights out of Barcelona has been popular with customers.
OK then, Stephen, how about a return to Southampton when NCL gets the extra capacity of Norwegian Epic to play with?
