Your chance to cook with Marco

Marco Pierre White might have Ade Edmondson, Linda Evans, Anthea Turner and Ms Dynamite running scared in Hell’s Kitchen, but get him on board a cruise ship and he is the perfect gentleman, as I discovered when he invited me to join him for breakfast on board P&O’s Ventura.
He was just as happy fulfilling an ambition to call the bingo numbers (above) as he was acting as a witness for a wedding on board, and telling a packed audience in the ship’s theatre – who were then sworn to secrecy – that he would be cooking Christmas dinner for British troops in Basra.
Now you have a chance to meet him on board as well, and join him in Heaven’s Kitchen for an (almost) private cooking and tasting session.
Marco created the White Room restaurant on board Ventura and masterminds the menus. He will be traveling on the ship three times this year during 14-night round-trip voyages from Southampton to Spain, France and Italy. The cruises depart on May 8, July 3 and September 25.
For £75 each (£35 for children) groups of eight passengers get to spend time with Marco creating a three-course menu and tasting the finished dishes.
Marco says: “For me it is all about passing on the knowledge I have and about using good ingredients to create simple and flavoursome dishes. Passengers will have the chance to get involved with the thought process behind the construction of the dishes I produce as well as getting to taste the finished article.
“These private cooking sessions are a first for me and I can’t wait to get on board to start cooking.”
I wonder if he’ll bring the Hell’s Kitchen winner along with him – to act as waiter.
