What was I saying last week about cruise holidays being great value?
Here’s even further proof – some spectacular deals for under £1,000.
£679 – which includes flights from Gatwick – gets you a seven-night
eastern Mediterranean cruise on the Thomson Celebration. Fly to
Marmaris in Turkey on June 14 and then sail to Bodrum, Izmir, Mykonos,
Athens and Crete. Go to www.cruise118.com or call 0800 280 2614.
£888 is enough for a 13-night midnight sun cruise to Norway’s North
Cape – and no flights are required. Braemar sails from Dover on June
17, and visits Molde, Andalsnes, Tromso, Honnigsvag, Narvik, Olden and
Stavanger before returning to Dover. The cruise also features Fred
Olsen’s ArtsClub programme of events based round Nordic Legends and
Wildlife. Go to www.fredolsencruises.co.uk or call 01473 742424
Fares for a seven-night Norwegian itinerary on the same ship, sailing
from Dover on July 7, are available from £599 for an inside cabin and
£669 for an outside. Braemar sails from Dover to Bergen, Olden, Flam,
Gudvangen and Stavanger. Go to www.iglucruise.com or call 020 8544 6447.
£949 is the fare for a 14-night Mediterranean cruise on the largest
ship sailing from the UK. Independence of the Seas departs from
Southampton on June 19 heading for Gibraltar, Villefranche, Livorno,
Civitavecchia, Cagliari, Cadiz, Lisbon and Vigo. Go to
www.gillscruise.com or call 08456 582323.
£999 will take you on a 13-night cruise through the Panama Canal on
board the all-casual, freestyle Norwegian Star, plus a pre-cruise
night in a Miami hotel. The ship sails to Cartagena in Colombia, then
through the canal and on to Puntarenas in Costa Rica, Huatalco,
Acapulco, and Cabo San Lucas in Mexico, and on to Los Angeles for the
flight home. Fares based on two sharing an inside cabin, departing the
UK on December 4. Go to www.virginholidayscruises.co.uk or call 0871 781 9893.
£729 buys a cruise on Norwegian Epic, a new super-sized ship which will be visiting Southampton in June before being launched in New York
on July 4. The deal – which includes flights and $150 per cabin
on-board spending money – is for a seven-night cruise departing

Fantastic to see so many offers in an affordable price range. It always seemed that those cruises would have to be short and close by yet more and more it seems you can travel over to the Caribbean for these rates. Good news for families and those on a lower budget.
