Another cruise line is adding ex-UK voyages to its itineraries. Following yesterday’s Braemar announcement from Fred Olsen comes news that Thomson Spirit will be based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne from May to July 2012, and in Harwich during August and September.
The 1,254-passenger ship will sail 15 cruises from the two ports to a total of 39 destinations in Iceland, Norway, and the Baltic.
There will be a weekend break to Belgium and Holland, and an 11-night round-Britain cruise, calling at Guernsey, Dublin, the Isle of Man, Tobermory, the Orkneys, and Edinburgh.
Commercial manager Phil Gardner said: “We have widened the portfolio of destinations to give customers even more choice and we have also listened to our customers who have requested the return of our UK programme.”
There are offers of 25 per cent discounts, onboard credit, and free coach transport or car parking for 2012 bookings made before June 30 this year.
Thomson Dream will be based in Palma, Majorca, for the summer, sailing four different seven and 14-night itineraries including three new destinations – Tangier, Casablanca and Gibraltar. From May 2012, Thomson Celebration will be back in Marmaris, Turkey, and Thomson Destiny will begin a season of cruises from Corfu.
The Thomson Cruise 2012 brochure will be released on May 5.
