Swimming with dolphins, ziplining over the treetops and riding camels to the pyramids; dressing up for dinner or relaxing on the beach – all feature in the pictures entered for the Cruise Photo of the Year contest.
The winner will receive a pair of tickets to attend the presentation of the first Cruise International Awards, to be held at the Soho Hotel in London on September 14, and almost 200 photographs have so far been put on display on the magazine’s Facebook page.
It’s fascinating to see what people consider to be the “wow moment” that encapsulates all that is best about cruise holidays. For some it’s breakfasting on the balcony, dressed in a bathrobe; for others it’s a magnificent cathedral in St Petersburg, or a glacier in Alaska. Gliding past the Sydney Opera House, relaxing with a cigar, or para-gliding in the Caribbean all feature alongside pictures of platefuls of food and cocktails by the bucketful.
It’s not too late to enter your own picture – go to Cruise International’s website to see how. And you can influence the judges’ decision by “liking” your favourites in the Facebook galleries.
While you’re at it, there’s still time to vote in all the other categories – for your favourite cruise line, ship, entertainer, destination and celebrity. You can choose the coolest captain, and even back the best blogger.
The awards are presented by Cruise International magazine in association with Discover Cruises and Cruise Today – the Travel Channel
