The Muppets are about to launch a new career . . . at sea. Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo the Great and Animal will lead a cast of 20 characters in an interactive game played out on magic paintings throughout cruise ship Disney Fantasy.
When the ship launches next March, passengers will get the chance to solve The Case of the Stolen Show by helping Kermit find his missing banjo, Animal track down his stolen drumsticks, and returning a lost cleaver to Swedish Chef.
Guided by a map and holding a unique game card in front of select pieces of Enchanted Art, guests will unveil clues to find the props. Elsewhere on the ship, they will be able to check a Muppets message board and find a Muppet-sized stateroom door to discover more clues as they try to identify the culprit and solve the crime before it’s time to raise the curtain and light the lights on the Muppets’ big show.
The game is just one of the new entertainments on board the 4,000-passenger ship, which is in the final stages of construction in Germany, and will be christened at a ceremony in Florida next March.
The vessel, sister ship to Disney Magic which launched in January, also features an updated Animator’s Palate dinner show in one of its three main restaurants. This time around, Sorcerer’s Apprentic Mickey Mouse encourages his young fans to draw their own cartoons which are then incorporated in the nightly performance.
