I have plenty to tell you about my three days on board Hurtigruten’s Midnatsol this week, travelling along the coast of Norway from Tromso to Trondheim. But it will be a day or two before I get time to write about it – the days might be long in this part of the world at this time of year, but they are also packed with places to go and things to do. Just to give you an idea of what to expect, here’s a sea eagle photographed on yesterday’s excursion in the Lofoten islands. Knowing how inept I am with a camera, and having had so many blurred and out-of-focus disappointments in the past, I was delighted that there are perhaps a dozen shots almost as impressive as this among the 500 pictures I took yesterday afternoon. More later.
