New livery for Discovery

/, Cruise Ships/New livery for Discovery

disco_CMV.jpgIt’s not quite a paint job on the scale of the one which Norwegian Breakaway is about to receive, but cruise ship Discovery will receive a makeover before being transferred to Cruise & Maritime Voyages’ management.
The ship will be spending time in dry dock before the handover, and will emerge with the livery shown above, including the CMV logo on her funnel.
Voyages of Discovery will continue to sell cruises on Discovery as well as their new vessel, Voyager, which is scheduled to depart from Portsmouth on her inaugural voyage in early December.
VoD’s new brochure comes with a newly-introduced price promise, as does sister company Swan Hellenic, who operate boutique ship Minerva – both companies are part of the All Leisure group which also owns Hebridean Island Cruises, Page & Moy, and Discover Egypt.
Like competitors P&O, Cunard, Saga and others, the price promise guarantees passengers who book early will not lose out if prices are dropped before embarkation. It doesn’t offer money back, but it proomises benefits to match the difference – including cabin upgrades and on-board credit.
►Ocean Countess, the ship which has been operated by CMV from UK regional ports for the past three summers, departs on her final voyage for the company on October 9, sailing from Liverpool on a 14-night cruise to the Canaries, Morocco and Malaga, before finishing in Barcelona. Fares from £759.
CMV’s Chris Coates says: “It should be a great experience on board the farewell Ocean Countess cruise and a fitting way to end our operation of this elegant lady. We have enjoyed three highly successful summer seasons operating Ocean Countess from ports around the British Isles and now look forward to operating the upgraded Discovery in 2013.”
