Boutique line Azamara Club Cruises is to offer all-inclusive drinks, matching the packages available on upmarket competitors such as SeaDream and Crystal. The line will also introduce a complimentary shore excursion – or AzAmazing Evening – on each of its voyages.
The new benefits will begin when the line’s ships return to Europe next year – March in the case of Azamara Quest, and May for Azamara Journey.
All Azamara’s cruises feature late-night departures and overnight stays in port. It will be during these that the “destination events” will be laid on. Typical evenings will include outings to the ballet in St Petersburg and sherry-tasting in Spain. Similar excursions from other ships cost £85 or more.
Azamara already provides complimentary wine with lunch and dinner, as well as free soft drinks, tea and coffee, shuttle buses and launderettes. The extended drinks offering will include beer, spirits and wine throughout the day and evening – whenever the bars are open on the two 694-passenger ships.
Larry Pimentel, president of Azamara Club Cruises, says: “With these new amenities our guests – who love their time onboard but have made it clear the cruise experience extends to their time ashore – are offered an unmatched holiday experience at tremendous value.”
