Disney ducks make wish come true

//Disney ducks make wish come true

Passengers and crew on Disney Cruise Line‘s four ships have raised $14,000 for the Make-A-Wish charity with a series of rubber duck races in the ships’ pools and watercoasters.
The events marked the 30th anniversary of the Disney VoluntEARS programme, which gives opportunities for cast and crewmembers to donate their time to worthy causes around the world.
On the ships, thousands of yellow rubber ducks were decorated and personalized before taking part in the races and on the newer Disney Dream and Fantasy, they were raced through the AquaDuck watercoasters.
All funds raised from the duck sales have been donated to Make-A-Wish International, which grants wishes for children facing life-threatening medical conditions. Since the first-ever official wish experience 32 years ago, Disney has helped grant more than 81,000 wishes globally and is involved in nearly 50 per cent of the wishes granted each year.
Christiaan Abbott, cruise director aboard the Disney Dream, said: “Having our guests take part in this first-ever AquaDucky Derby has definitely made it especially unique. You can feel the excitement in the air. The entire shipboard community of guests and crew came together to have fun for a great cause, and the reaction from the crowd has been incredible.”

Hi Captain Greybeard, I am having a problem! I want to catch up on your posts that I missed while I was away (yes, on a cruise!). Unfortunately each time I tap on the run of page numbers at the bottom of the page, I get “404 – Not Found”. It always used to work ok. Can you help please? Thanks.

Hi Sue. Sorry to hear you’re having a problem accessing my earlier posts. There is a problem with the blogsite navigation that I am trying to get our techie people to sort out. Let me know how long you have been away and I’ll see if I can send you links to the items you have missed. Kind regards

Thanks Captain for your kind offer. I see the gremlins are still messing with your blog! I was away from 24th to 31st May. If you can send me links that would be great – but if not don’t worry, I can wait til the Gremlins have been exterminated by your techies! Many thanks.
    Sue
