From Boston Red Sox to Anfield?

//From Boston Red Sox to Anfield?

In his earlier life as a maitre d’ and a hotel director, Michael Bayley probably thought a pitcher was nothing more than a jug of water. Yesterday he discovered a whole new meaning to the word.
Bayley, originally from the UK and a graduate of Bournemouth University, has been president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises for 12 months. The company is the “official cruise line” of the Boston Red Sox – and a perk of the liaison means Bayley was given the first pitch in last night’s game against the Baltimore Orioles.
As a Brit who knew nothing about the game he had to seek advice, as this video shows. Doesn’t look like pitching legend Luis Tiant – “El Tiante” – was all that impressed.
I’ve got some more advice for Mr Bayley. Before you come home for a visit to the UK (he now lives with his family in Miami) have a word with the Red Sox’s owners, Fenway Sports Group. They also own a little football team over here that you may have heard of. You might even be able to get a game if you fancy pulling on the red shirt of Liverpool FC. We’ll all come and cheer you on.
