Cruise ship Britannia is to host a five-night residency for Boyzlife, the Irish supergroup formed by Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy. The Westlife and Boyzone stars will appear in the P&O ship’s Limelight Club, an intimate supper lounge where guests have a three-course meal before the entertainment – which usually consists of conversation and song. For Duffy, the visit will be a return to the ship on which he competed in TV’s Battlechefs last year. He said: “We are very excited to be taking our sell-out tour to sea and entertaining Britannia’s guests with music and stories from life on [...]

Spectacular start for Regal Princess

Regal Princess, which left the shipyard this week for her first sea trials, will be christened at the end of next month. It's going to be a relatively low-key affair compared with the stunning success of last year's ceremony in Southampton, where a heavily pregnant Kate Middleton was godmother and grabbed headlines and topped television news bulletins around the world. The ship is still going to be a spectacular vessel, with entertainment to match - as you can see from this video.

A Crystal first: Female dance partners

There's a certain group of cruise ship passengers who travel frequently and often alone. We'll call them the Golden Girls although some are Platinum and others are Silver or just Blue. As well as the hair, they have the time and they have the money, because - let's be frank - they may have an inheritance or an insurance pay-out to support them. What they don't have in abundance is male company. Which is why many cruise lines employ gentlemen hosts to partner these ladies on the dance floor and to provide conversation over dinner or a drink. Because that's [...]
